More Information About Donations and Funding

If you request that your donation support a specific project funded by Foundation Todos Juntos, please note that according to U.S. law, the Foundation must exercise control over the funds sent to international organizations, retain the right to withdraw the approval of a grant, and redirect the funds in furtherance of the Foundation's exempt purposes as deemed appropriate by the Foundation Todos Juntos' Board of Directors.

There are a variety of ways to maximize your donation!

Donor Advised Funds (DAF)

A donor advised fund (DAF), is a charitable giving account created for the purpose of supporting the charitable organizations you care about most.

When you contribute cash, securities, or other assets to a donor advised fund, you are generally eligible to take an immediate tax deduction. Then those funds can be invested for tax-free growth, and you can recommend grants to any eligible IRS-qualified public charity, such as Foundation Todos Juntos.

To make a gift to Foundation Todos Juntos using your donor advised fund, contact your DAF account manager and provide:

Desired donation amount
Designation or purpose of your gift — such as area of greatest need, a specific project, etc.

Gifts from Your IRA

If you are in the US, use your IRA to Make a “Tax-Free” Gift to Foundation Todos Juntos.

Donors 70½ and older can make a direct donation to Foundation Todos Juntos from their IRA and avoid tax on the transferred amount. This is called a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD).

Benefits of a QCD:

Avoid taxes on transfers of up to $108,000 per year from your IRA directly to Foundation Todos Juntos
If you are 72 or older, the gift may satisfy your annual Required Minimum Distribution (RMD)
Maximize the gift’s impact because all funds go to Foundation Todos Juntos tax-free
Reduce your taxable income, even if you do not itemize deductions

In-Kind Gifts to 32 Volcanes

In-kind donations such as medical supplies, educational materials, agricultural tools, or office equipment are a meaningful way to support the work of our partner, 32 Volcanes, in Guatemala. If you are in Guatemala or traveling there soon and are interested in making an in-kind gift, here’s how to get started:

Review the 32 Volcanes Wish List: These are the items that are most useful to the projects. Note that some items are readily available and cheaper in Xela than in other countries.
Contact 32 Volcanes: Please reach out to 32 Volcanes to confirm the details of your donation.
Coordinate Delivery: The easiest and best way to donate in-kind items is to travel with the donations in your luggage or in an extra suitcase, or purchase the items after you arrive in Guatemala. 32 Volcanes is open Monday through Friday, but we recommend scheduling a drop-off time with their staff.

Unfortunately, shipping items to Guatemala is not recommended due to the prohibitive shipping costs and the import taxes that 32 Volcanes would incur. As such, 32 Volcanes cannot accept donations that are shipped from other countries. If you are not planning to travel to Guatemala, we ask that you consider a monetary donation instead.
